I’m Brad Copas and I have a vision that is Kentucky. Today we take the first step forward to bring our vision that is Kentucky to reality.
I was seven when my father left the Army and moved us onto the family farm at Hickory Ridge, Monroe County, Kentucky. I grew up in Tompkinsville and I spent a few my teenage years in Frankfort. As a senior in high school I joined the Army. Little did I know that, my first day of basic training, Iraq would invade Kuwait.
I served this country and I have been a war veteran of America’s Foreign Wars my entire adult life. I served in Iraq again in 2005 with soldiers from all parts of the commonwealth. I am a descendant of a Revolutionary war veteran. My grandfather served in the Pacific during World War Two and then again in Korea
My father’s retired from the Army. Three of my brothers and I, we have eight tours of combat among us. You see my family knows what it is to serve this country
I have lived and worked in eighteen countries. I worked in two US embassies, travelled to more than a dozen other countries on four continents. After all of that time I have not found anything that we don’t have right here in Kentucky. All we need are leaders with vision.
While other candidates want to promote their team, I invite you to join with us as we work to develop and promote Kentucky.
We have never needed a king or Mitch McConnell as a kingmaker. This is why I’m running as a six-term taker.
Mitch McConnell wants to spend almost 45 years in elected office. This is not acceptable. We’re not here to retire Mitch McConnell, we’re here to bury him.
While the military continues to suffer sequestration, veterans suffer a backlog of frustration and kentucky families suffer.
Mitch McConnell and career politicians cannot focus on anything that is not their reelection efforts. It’s time that they feel the pain. To add insult to injury, career politicians locked us out of our veterans memorials. You did not allow us to pay respect to honored dead.
You career politicians crossed our red line and we will strike.
I invite you to join with us as we work to win in May and then again in November.
We welcome that Mitch McConnell has locked the door. We choose his campaign because it’s hard. We choose this campaign to show Washington that Kentucky will do more with less. It is with great respect that I ask you to join with me, my family, fellow veterans and fellow citizens to embrace and promote our vision that is Kentucky.
From the Cumberland Gap to Covington, we shall prevail.
I’m Brad Copas. I’m in the final stages of developing this campaign and today. I announce that I am a candidate for the United States Senate. I invite you to go to CopasForSenate.com to learn more about our vision and I look forward to meeting with you over the next few months.
